Return Francais Ernest Girard

Eglantine Girard's father.
Born on January 11, 1880 at 2:00am in the family house in the country called Saint Giniez. His mother, Victoire nee Barthet, was 34 and his father, Michel Girard, 43.
He worked at Valensole, where he met his future wife. He married Berthe Arnoux on June 14, 1906, in Valensole. He was 26. He was 3 years more than her.
One year later, their first child, Eglantine, 'looked the day'.
He was a blacksmith and got a forge for horseshoes, under his home. He had several gardens too that he cultivated, one behind their home, another one a little up along the road to the village...
He was 34 when WWI broke out.
Four years after the end of the war, his father Michel passed out at the age of 86. He was 42 then. The field of 'Le Cai', that his father had purchased, got to him. He was to give them to his daughter Eglan, at the end of WWII, advised by his son Bertin.
He was 50 when his eldest daughter got married. It was only 10 years later that her second daughter was to get married, her fiancé Pierre Raffier having been made prisoner in Austria. He was 60 then.
He was 59 at the beginning of WWII. He took his eldest daughter in with her 5 children at her arrival from Dakar, Senegal.
He was 59 at his granddaughter's birth, France and was here at her engagement and marriage too!
He lost his wife on April 13, 1958. He was 78 then. His eldest daughter Eglantine, took him in home at Saint-Auban. He was spending long moments in front of the window of the kitchen... At the end, he was suffering a lot. He asked his son-in-law to lead him to an end. He survived 3 years to his wife, passed out on March 14, 1961 at the age of 81.
